Fact Sheet AA.AE™ - AuctionAgents.ae is a trade name of ICB FZE
AuctionAgents.ae allows car dealers to join and bid online in Dubai car auctions. Due to the on-going financial crisis in Dubai, there are fantastic
bargains available. Here's how:
1. For a small fee of only 300Euro you become a full member of AA.AE ™ and
receive a username and password which allows you to log on www.auctionagents.ae.
The number of members is, for now, limited to 15 dealers! Your membership will remain valid for six months and during this period you will be invited to at least 10 (no.) auctions.
For a one-off “guest membership” that allows you to join the auctions but without the ability to bid, we will charge 100Euro (also valid for 6 months and this fee will not be refunded if you want to upgrade to full member status).
2. We will contact you personally and explain, in detail, the operation of the AA.AE™
system although guidelines are given below:

3. Forthcoming auctions in Dubai, which we will visit for you, are given below:
· Wednesday, 03.02.2010, 18.15 local time* (15.00 in Germany)
The auctions run for approximately 4 hours and there are about 150 cars being sold each evening. We encourage you to log onto the system at least 20 minutes before the auction starts! Further auctions, which we will visit for you, are as follows:
· Sunday, 31.01.2010, 17.30 local time (14.30 in Germany)
· Tuesday, 02.02.2010, 17.45 local time (14.45 in Germany)
* The exact starting time varies by a few minutes subject to the end of the "Maghrib Prayer.
4. If you want to bid in an auction, we will require a deposit of 3000AED (approx 550Euro) which will be held and available to pay the auctioneer as a deposit for the car.
· If you buy a car, the deposit will be deducted from the auction price. This deposit needs to be received in cash or via bank transfer to our account by, at least, the start of business on the day of the auction.
· If you do not buy a car, the deposit will be refunded on the following day. Please give us your bank details (including IBAN and SWIFT / BIC) to assist the return transfer.
5. The payment for the car (less the deposit) has to be made within 48 hours after the auction ends. Therefore, in order to receive the necessary amount, immediately arrange for an express-money transfer with avis via email. If you do not meet this deadline, the auction organizer keeps the deposit. For all bank money transfers the cost sharing principle is applied i.e. the charges made by your bank to be paid by the applicant, the costs made by the foreign bank at the expense of the beneficiary.
6. All vehicles in the auctions are without
any warranty or guarantee and are sold “as seen”. A return is excluded.
Compensations for damages, whether obvious or hidden, are excluded. All cars are checked prior to the auction by
a motor vehicle assessor from EPPCO Co. This inspection result may be forwarded
to you, upon request.
7. We, and the website, offer the following services:
7.1. At least two agents from AA.AE ™ will be present at the auction.
7.2. An overview of all vehicles including photos and description, which will be sold during the forthcoming auction, will be online at least one hour before the auction starts.
7.3. You have the opportunity to highlight interesting vehicles and indicate your maximum bid which our agents may make on your behalf. A minimum bid does not exist.
7.4. We will inspect interesting vehicles for you, look for visible defects and take more photos for you, if requested. If there are specific items to be checked on your behalf, these can be addressed prior to the start of the auction.
7.5. During the auction (for each car) you will see the up to date bid. The
bids typically rise in 1.000Dirham (about 182Euro) and later in 500Dirham
(about 91Euro) increments. After the sale of a vehicle you will see the final sale
price for that car.
7.6. ALD (Auction Live Data): Our system, on the website, automatically
calculates all other charges (shipping, customs & taxes, preparation of
registration papers, our commission, etc. pp. according to your profile) and
then gives the price in Dirham, US-Dollar and Euro adjusted to current exchange
rates. Profiles: There are five customer profiles available
("customer 1-5") where members are classified, by us in consultation
with you, to an appropriate customer group depending on how many cars you want
to buy, whether you want a car make-up, which taxes and duties apply in your
country i.e. costs vary.
Therefore ALD ™ shows, during the bidding, the total cost of the car.
7.7. MBA (Maximum Bid Advisor): Our system allows you to determine the current
prevailing market price for the car (for example in Germany via Autoscout or
DAT, etc). Given the margin that you want to make on a vehicle, MBA calculates,
including all additional costs estimated using ALD, the amount you may wish to
bid for a car, converted into Dirhams.
7.8. A live chat function
enables communication between you and our agent(s), who are personally attending
the auction. In addition, the live chat allows communication between all
customers who participate, in the auction, on our system. So you can discuss
with each other about the vehicles, whether a final sale price was favourable,
or even expensive. You can even bid with another member together on a car or
coordinate with each other, if several members are interested in the same car.
7.9. A webcam allows images (photos) and a live stream so you can observe the
auction. We will provide live stream in real time on the website as well as
stills in the best quality every 20 minutes uploaded to the website.
7.10. We provide three phone numbers and
a special email address so you can reach us during the auction either by phone
or by SMS and email. Please note that telephone connection may be difficult due
to high volumes during an auction.
7.11. We take care to ensure payment to the auction organizer, the export
papers, shipment, transport insurance, the declaration for customs clearance
and taxation in the destination country, the truck transportation from the port
to you, the installation of a rear fog lamp, registration papers for all
countries in the EU and Switzerland. The cost for this additional service, you
can pay conveniently within 10 days after the auction via bank transfer to our
account or in cash. The amount of all such charges will be displayed during
each individual auction in real time. These additional services are optional:
you can handle the shipping, etc. pp., if you really want to, independently.
7.12. You can view the auction results of past auctions.
8. Despite use of modern technology, including two mobile Internet access (1x via HSPA and 1x via UMTS/GPRS), we can not guarantee against disruption. Any kind of damages, resulting from the telephone and internet connection quality etc., are excluded. In the event that we bid for you on a car, we make sure that this is the correct and desired vehicle and we will respect your maximum bid you want to place. We reserve the right not to bid, either because a defect on the vehicle was seen during the auction, overloading of the communication link or by the number of orders. For those intent on bidding for a vehicle, by one of our members, we will keep a direct communication channel open (either by phone or internet chat) to the member concerned.
9. If you wish to attend an auction in Dubai, we will pick you up at the airport and help you to find a good hotel. Please note that you must have a UAE-Trade License and a Resident Visa to join auctions in the UAE. You are welcome to bid on our Trade License. For this service we charge 500USD per vehicle.
10. Tips and tricks:
10.1. Experience has shown that prices at the auction are falling towards the end! At the beginning there are several hundred bidders present whereas, at the end, only a few dozen remain.
10.2. Often, several vehicles of the same type and model year are coming under the hammer. Upon request, our agents who are on-site can advise which car is in the best condition and / or can be bought at the cheapest price.
10.3. The cars in the auctions usually come from banks and the RTA (Road and Traffic Authority Dubai). These are vehicles that have been seized by the police or their owners could not longer afford the financing and leasing rates. The court procedures in Dubai take about one year until the RTA or the banks can resell the cars. Thus it can be expected that the bulk of the abandoned cars are coming under the hammer over the next few months and the prices may fall further still.
10.4. Vehicle cleaning, maintenance or repair is much cheaper in the UAE than elsewhere. This work should be executed in the UAE. On the other hand, for customs and taxation in the destination country, it could be more advantageous if the car was not modified in advance.
10.5. A few models on the Arabian Peninsula are very difficult to get registered in Europe or only at very high expense. This problem is less frequent with new cars although the auction usually sells used cars. Upon request, further details can be provided.
10.6. You can also sell your own vehicles at the auctions in Dubai or return one for re-auctioning.
